Browser Feature Support
Check browser compatibility for CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and Web API features using real MDN data
Quick Start
- 1Enter a CSS property or web feature name
- 2View browser compatibility results
- 3Check version-specific support details
- 4See alternative approaches for unsupported browsers
What This Tool Does
Search by feature name and you get a row per match with support for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Opera, each showing the version that shipped it or a badge for flagged, partial, removed or unsupported.
The dataset covers 2,153 features across nine groups: Web APIs, CSS properties, CSS selectors, CSS functions and types, CSS at-rules, HTML elements, SVG elements, JavaScript and HTTP headers. Experimental and deprecated features are labeled, so you can tell a new feature from a dying one.
Search matches on both the feature name and its full path, so a query like grid template and a query like css grid both land in the right place. Results are ranked with exact matches first and paged fifty at a time.
Limits Worth Knowing
- The compatibility data is bundled with the site and refreshed when the site is rebuilt, so treat a feature released in the last few weeks as needing a second source.
- Only the five desktop browsers are listed. Mobile browsers are not in the table.
- The global percentage is an estimate built from fixed share weights rather than live measurement, and those weights total about 94, so a universally supported feature reads as 94 rather than 100.
- A version number reflects unflagged, unprefixed support. Partial implementations behind a flag are marked but not described in detail.
- There is no side-by-side comparison view and no permalink to an individual feature.
