About Croppers
All three pages open the same cropper, which cuts pixels away and does nothing else. It does not resize, retouch or blur, and keeping the scope that narrow is why it is quick.
The selection can be free-form or locked to a ratio: 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2, 2:3, 9:16, or a custom pair you type in. Quarter-turn rotation and horizontal and vertical flips sit on the same toolbar, and the crop box rotates with the image rather than resetting.
The image is decoded and cut in your browser, so a screenshot with a customer name on it, or a photo you have not published yet, stays on your own machine.
Which One Should You Use?
A profile picture or feed post
Use the 1:1 preset so the selection stays square while you position it, and decide for yourself what gets cut.
A screenshot
Leave the ratio on Free and trim to whatever region matters, then export as PNG so the text stays sharp.
A thumbnail or banner
Use 16:9 or 9:16 depending on orientation, then resize afterwards if the destination wants exact pixel dimensions.
