Combine images into a PDF without uploading them
You can combine JPG and PNG images into a single PDF without uploading them. The images going in are usually phone photos of paperwork, and a phone photo records where and when it was taken until you remove that.

In detail
This is how photographs of paperwork become a document: receipts for an expense claim, a passport page and a utility bill for a landlord, signed sheets for an employer, a set of medical letters for an insurer. The recipient always wants one file, and the source material is always a camera roll.
The camera roll is the risk. A phone photo records the coordinates where it was taken, the exact time, and which device took it, and none of that is visible when you look at the picture. Run the images through the EXIF viewer and strip what you do not want to send before you build the document, because once they are pages you are dealing with a different file entirely.
Crop before you combine, too. Photographs of documents routinely include the rest of the desk: the next document in the pile, a laptop screen, a name on an envelope, someone's hand. Screenshots include notification banners and whatever tabs were open. Shoot each page in the same orientation, crop each one to the page, then set the order and build.
Confirm nothing left by opening the network panel before you add the first image, or by disconnecting the network and building the document offline. It is the same check for every page here, and it is genuinely worth doing the first time with a file that would embarrass you, because after that you know.
Things that catch people out
- Everything at the edge of the frame goes into the document. Crop first.
- A photograph of a document is not a scan. Recipients who require a scan reject photos for glare, shadow and skew.
- Strip EXIF from the images before building, not after. Once they are pages, the photo metadata is no longer where you can inspect it.
- Photograph every page in the same orientation and the same light. A document where half the pages are sideways is harder to read than the pile of paper it came from.
Try it: Hash Generator
The file hasher is on every page here because it takes any file at all and proves the point: disconnect from the network, drop a file in, and it still returns a checksum you can compare against a published one.

MD5 is cryptographically broken and should not be used for security purposes. Use SHA-256 or SHA-512 instead.
