Split a PDF without uploading it
Splitting a PDF in your browser produces new files from the pages you choose. Each output is a new document that inherits properties from the original, so an extracted page is not an anonymous one.

In detail
Splitting is usually an act of restraint. Someone needs one page of a bank statement, one clause of an agreement, one scan out of a batch of forty, and the whole reason you are cutting the file up is that they should not see the rest. Uploading the entire document in order to extract one page from it inverts the exercise completely.
The extracted page is a new file, but it did not come out of nowhere. It carries document properties from the original, and it carries its own page content unchanged, which includes anything drawn underneath something else. If you split a document in order to share a redacted view, check the extracted page in a text extractor and confirm that what you think is hidden is actually absent.
Watch the numbering. The page index a viewer shows you and the number printed on the page frequently disagree, because cover sheets, blank separators and scanned inserts shift the count. Extract, then open the output and read the printed number on the page to confirm you cut the right one.
To satisfy yourself that the document stayed put, turn on airplane mode or unplug the network before you load the file. The tool is already in front of you, so the split runs and downloads normally. A hosted equivalent simply stops working at that point, which is the whole difference in one test.
Examples
Page content: is this the page you meant, by its printed number?
Hidden text: run it through the text extractor and read what comes out.
Properties: check Author, Title and Producer in the metadata editor.
File name: the name you saved it under is visible to the recipient too.Things that catch people out
- Extracting one page does not scrub the rest of the document out of the new file's properties. Author, producer and creation date come from the original.
- If the page is a scan, the output is the same image. Splitting does not make text selectable, and the extractor will find nothing on it.
- A document with a cover page is usually off by one. Check the printed page number, not the viewer's index.
Try it: Hash Generator
The file hasher is on every page here because it takes any file at all and proves the point: disconnect from the network, drop a file in, and it still returns a checksum you can compare against a published one.

MD5 is cryptographically broken and should not be used for security purposes. Use SHA-256 or SHA-512 instead.
